Thomas the Train

We took Thad to see Thomas the Train in Golden, CO. It was so much fun! We saw a commercial on PBS about 2 months ago and ever since then he has talked about going to see Thomas. I told him 2 weeks ago that I bought tickets and everyday since then he asked about Thomas. Today we finally got to see him!

We had to park and take a bus to the Train Museum- here is Thad's excited face!
Right when we pulled up this is what we saw! Thad was so excited to see Thomas.
There was lots to do at the Train Museum. Thad got a tattoo of Thomas.
Thad handed his ticket to the man at the station. He was ready to go!
Checking out some of the other trains

The perfect picture! Thad was so excited and of course did his famous smile with his clenched fists! Everyone was laughing around us saying how much excitement he has. Of course we had to buy the over priced photo, but it was well worth it!

We rode in one of the last cars and Thomas took us around three times. It went around the train museum and was just the right amount of time.

They had different stations you could visit. There was a story session, tattoo place, an imagination station where there were toys they could play with, a Sir Topham Hatt place and of course the HUGE gift shop!

Thad snuck in a picture with the Conductor after the ride.
Thad was a little scared of Sir Topham Hatt. I was able to sneak in a picture before he had a melt down! He was crying and screaming by the time it was over. He wanted away from Sir Topham Hatt!
Playing with the trains at the Imagination station.
At the end of the day Thad said "Mommy, I'm so happy!" He said it about 10 times throughout the day how happy he was.

He was worn out by the end of the day! He had so much fun with Thomas. We bought lots of little souvenirs. This might be a tradition we have started!

A fun day at the zoo

We went to the zoo last weekend and had a fun time. The zoo is one of our favorite places to go. We have a membership and definitely get our use out of it. Thad has his favorite things he has to do each time we go.

Our first stop is the Giraffes. Thad has to feed them 9 crackers each time we go. He usually feeds the same giraffe all 9 crackers! He isn't afraid of their slimy tongues either! We got a close up of one of them.
Up the hill to the Choo Choo train. Thad finally got to sit in the front for the first time. Usually other kids are already there when we get there so he always sits in the back. He figured out how to make the whistle go. He got an extra long ride because he was the only kid wanting to ride when we got there.
We also have to ride the carousel every time. This time Daddy got to ride with him.
I love pictures like this one. They capture the memories of Thad and Daddy!
Crawling through the little tunnel. Giving me one of his many funny faces!

Here is one of his very funny faces! He gets so excited and just goes for it! This was by the otter cages.
I think we might have started a new tradition at the zoo. Thad rode the baby horsey for the first time. He loved it! It went around the loop four times. He held on and rode it like a champ. That is all he has talked about since Saturday.

The orangutan was right up next to the window and Thad went right up to him and stared him down!
Thad loves going to the zoo. Every time we tell him we are going he says "I ride choo choo, I feed giraffes, I ride horsey?" all in one sentence! He knows the three things he wants to do and has fun!

Art work

We had an art project for our heart group- Mended Little Hearts. All the kids got together and painted pictures. We are going to use them for a fundraiser for our group. We will be making the artwork into cards to sell.

Thad hard at work painting! He actually did pretty good and kept most of the paint on the paper.
He did 3 paintings, this was the first one....
A little help from mommy drawing a heart but the rest was all Thad!
We had to do one for Emma with Thad's handprints. The Angel wings, body and head are all part of Thad's hand's! This one might be my favorite :)
Thad had fun painting and running around with his friends. If anyone wants to purchase cards let me know. We don't have any details yet but will soon. They will go to a great cause and you will get this fun artwork that the kids made.

Labor Day Weekend

We went back to my parents cabin at Cedar Bluff for Labor Day Weekend. All my family was able to be there and it was a fun time. We ate so much food, played games, just hung out. The first night we roasted marshmellows. Thad found Papa's hat and wouldn't take it off.
We went on lots of Rhino rides around the lake. We all piled in and went cruising. Good think it doesn't go very fast! Thad loved it, he kept saying "Thad go on Rhino ride?"

Thad makes the funniest faces and this one is no exception! I told him to give me a funny face and this is what he did.......He wanted to see this picture over and over again on my camera and would laugh every time.
We had to take the kids swimming one of the days. They all had a blast especially Thad! Yes, he is wearing the pink Dora life jacket. It's the only one that would fit him and he didn't care, he loves pink! He was not afraid of the water either. He loved jumping in the water to Daddy and Papa.
And of course splashing with Papa. It has been a week and he still talks about splashing in the water with Papa.
Papa and Daddy decided it would be fun to play catch with Thad. He loved it and went a little higher each time. It almost gave me a heart attack watching from the shore.
Dawson wanted to be buried in the sand so Thad decided he wanted to be buried in the sand.
After a long day of swimming we had to come home and eat Watermelon! Within a few minutes we had the watermelon completely gone. Thad had about 5 pieces by himself.
Yummy! Making sure it's all cleaned off!
I couldn't resist this picture of them all devouring their watermelon. They were all starving after the big swim.
The weekend wouldn't be complete without all the family pictures! Here are all the cousins
Shayna, Hannah, Macie, Jaelynne, Avery, Thad and Dawson
The whole family
Dad, Mike, Me, Mom and Michelle
My sweet boy in the tree. Gosh I love this boy!
Thad and Dawson have so much fun together! They spent alot of time on Thad's bike and riding in the barbie car.
We went on late night walks and by the end Dawson and Thad wanted to be carried! Good think for Adam!
Thad and Papa Steve have a good time together. Thad is always worried about what Papa is doing.
The guys were able to go fishing a few mornings and caught a few fish. It was a fun weekend and nice to have an extra day there. Thanks to Nana and Papa for putting up with all of us and giving up their room for the babies!
