Mended Little Hearts Information

We have recently started a Mended Little Hearts Group in Colorado Springs. I am on the leadership team and we are doing AMAZING things! We have accomplished so much in the past few weeks. We are focusing on CHD week which is February 7-14th. If you live in Colorado Springs you want to check out our events we have planned.

Thursday 10th is our first annual blood drive. This is Colorado Springs' first city wide blood drive! We will have donation sites at the following locations:
Dodge Dealership on Woodman/Austin Bluffs
Memorial Central
Penrose
Stetson Hills Police Station
Friday 11th is our Proclamation signing at the Mayors office at 4:00. This is huge for the CHD community!
Saturday 12th- Couture Cupcakes is hosting a cupcake event where they are donating 100% of the proceeds to Mended Little Hearts of Colorado Springs. All you have to do is pay $5.00 and decorate a cupcake from 9-12 and 1-3.

We are having a fundraiser and selling these amazing notecards. They are all done by CHD kids. You can buy a pack of 10 cards for $10.00 or individual cards for $1.50. (Thad's is the first card on the page. He also did an Angel one for Emma with his handprints). If you would like to purchase any please let me know. They are blank inside so they are great for anything and go to a great cause!

I am really proud of our group we have. We have all bonded and have gotten really close. We have so many plans for our group. We hold a support meeting the 2nd Thursday of every month and have Children's activities monthly. If you know someone who lives in the area and would like more information please have them contact me. We have a face book page listed as Mended Little Hearts- Colorado Springs and our website will be up soon.

Thad's birthday party

Thad had a big weekend! He had a couple birthday parties and is worn out today. On his actual Birthday on Friday we went to the park, went to Red Robin for his birthday dinner where they sang him happy birthday and then we had a little party at our house. My parents were here on Friday and my dad's birthday is a few days after Thad's so we had a birthday party for both of them. Thad opened his presents from Nana and Papa and us that night. He had fun playing with all his new toys- a bee pillow pet, moon dough farm animal set, and a set of food with fruits and veggies (he loves pretend food!)

Thad and Papa's cake/cupcakes
We tried a few different pictures to get a family pic and this is what we got! Love Thad's eyes in the corner!

On Saturday we had a birthday party with his friends at Artsports. It was so much fun! There was a wall full of trampolines where the bigger kids strapped in and jumped high! Then there was a foam pit where some of the littler kids played. Thad played there for an hour! His cheeks were so rosy when he was finished playing.
After they jumped around for an hour we had cake and ice cream. This years theme was Toy Story so he had a Woody and Buzz cake. It was neat seeing all his friends around the table eating their cake! Thad even thought his friend Chloe needed a little cake in her face (bottom right picture)

After cake it was present time! He got so many toys! A few of his toys were: thomas trains, a grill for cooking, leapfrog computer, Cars toys, Toy Story toys, puzzles, games, and so much more! He wanted to play with each toy after opening them but we assured him he would have plenty of time to play later. Thank you to everyone who came and made Thad's day so special! He is very tired today and finally took a nap after 3 days of no naps! After his big party we went to Fargo's to have pizza then home to play with all his toys.

We love you Thad! Glad you had a fun birthday!

It's a boy!

We had our 19 week ultrasound today. It was a day we were looking forward to for a long time. My stomach was in knots all day. We met with Maternal Fetal Medicine doc's and they looked our little baby over from head to toe. It was suspenseful waiting to see the results. I was looking at the ultrasound technician as she's viewing the heart trying to read her face. She didn't say anything which I know they aren't supposed to until the Doctor comes in. Once she left the room it was a long 10 minutes until she came back with the Doctor. He gave us lots of relief when he told us everything looked good. He also took a look at his heart. He didn't see anything that was alarming to him. All chambers were the same size and all other areas looked normal. He said we aren't out of the woods just yet because during the 2nd trimester things could develop. But.....as of right now things are looking good and he said to keep doing what we were doing. Prayers are definitely working! God is so good and this baby is going to be just fine. He is in the 76 percentile and is growing good. He is about 11 oz. - almost the size of a pop can. He wasn't shy about showing us he was a boy! He was proud of what he has!
Cute profile picture with his hand by his face.
He was very active today and being a little stubborn for the pictures. We had to tilt the chair back and turn on my side to get him to cooperate. It was fun to see him move on the ultrasound and feel it at the same time.
Thad and my parents came with us to our appointment. Thad was excited to see his baby on the TV screen. We really appreciate all your prayers and support during this pregnancy. We meet with our cardiologist Dr. Brames in 3 weeks. I think after we meet with him I will feel a little more confident. I know everything will be okay regardless but I want his expertise to tell us his heart is perfect. Please continue to pray for our little guy.

Happy Birthday Thad

Thad turns 3 years old today! He is such a little man and growing up so fast. It amazes me how much he already knows at the age of 3. He notices everything and always has a comment about something! He knows what he wants and lets us know if we aren't doing something right. He is full of energy and never slows down. He loves playing with his friends especially Chloe and Jesse from daycare. They are his best friends.

This week has been full of parties for him. He had a party at daycare on Wednesday. Friday we are having a family party for him and going out to eat at Red Robin! He is having a fun birthday party on Saturday with his friends. It will be a lot of crazy kids jumping around on little trampolines and foam block pits at Artsports!
He is always full of smiles and laughs!
He even cheers for the Chiefs even though they couldn't pull it off this year!

Thad, you are such an amazing little boy, a true gift from God. We are so blessed and proud to be your parents. Everyday you teach us something new. You are going to be a great big brother!
