Today was Thad's cardiology appointment with Dr. Brames. When he asked me this morning where we were going and I told him to see Dr. Brames he started crying and said he didn't want to go to the Dr's house! I convinced him there were toys he could play with and that Dr. Brames just wanted to listen to his heart. The minute we pulled up to the office he was in tears :( You would have thought he was being tortured during the echo and EKG. He did finally calm down once Alicia put Toy Story on for him to watch. He also brought Woody so that made it a little better.
After his echo he got to pick two dinosaurs that he could take with him. The EKG was the hard part! I held him on my lap with baby Oliver poking far out and a crying 3 year old squirming all around! He is one strong little 35 pounder. He didn't like the stickers they had to put on him and the cords they hooked onto the stickers.
After that he calmed down a little and was a very good boy when Dr. Brames came in. He listened to Dr. Brames heart and his own heart and said "all done, my heart is okay!" Dr. Brames convinced him to let him listen. He kept saying "I'm a big boy, I not cry for Dr. Brames!"
I always have to get a cheesy grin with Thad and Dr. Brames
It was a great appointment and everything looks good with Thad's heart. His mitral valve is functioning good for now and all the pressures looked good. Heart function is great! He said he is a strong healthy little boy! We go back in one year for another checkup. We are so thankful Thad is doing so well. He is such a sweet boy. God knew what he was doing when he made Thad!
