Oliver Thomas Younger

We welcomed Oliver Thomas into our lives on Thursday June 9th at 12:41 pm.
He weighed 8 lbs 2 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. I went in on Thursday morning at 6 am. Around 7:00 they broke my water and started me on pitosin. They had to stop the pitosin for a little bit because Oliver wasn't liking it! After about an hour they started it slowly and by noon I was dilated to 10 cm. Once I started pushing it was about 40 minutes later and Mr. Oliver was here.

Meeting him for the first time......
Oliver is such a sweet boy! His mommy and daddy are very proud of him.
Thad stayed at home with Papa Steve until Oliver was born. When Thad came into the room he brought me a red rose. He was so proud to meet his baby brother and was shocked Oliver was not in mommy's tummy anymore.
Loving on his baby brother
So curious about him.....
Our first family photo. I am surrounded by boys now!
Thad's excited face and fists!
We spent one night in the hospital and about 26 hours after Oliver was born we were leaving! It still doesn't seem real leaving the hospital so quickly. This was the first time we could keep a baby in our room all night and day without him being whisked away to the NICU. They did an echo the night he was born and everything looked great with his heart. His oxygen levels were 100% and he was a very pink baby!

He looked so little in his car seat
He is such a sweet baby and a good baby. He hardly cries unless he needs a diaper change or wants to nurse. Even with all the noise from his brother he still manages to sleep through it!

It's hard to see in this picture but he has a little dimple in his chin. Adam's uncle has a dimple in his chin so he must get it from him! It is pretty cute and makes him unique :)
We feel so blessed to have Oliver be healthy. It is such a relief to have a baby who doesn't need surgery within 48 hours of birth or spend 6 weeks in the hospital. It is nice taking him straight home from the hospital and being in our own home as a family. This is what it is supposed to be like. Oliver is a little miracle and we are so blessed to call him ours.

Thad is such a good big brother already. He has already started teaching him baby sign language for mommy, daddy and milk! He always wants to be around him and hug and kiss him. The first thing he said when he woke up this morning was "where's Oliver?" Last night before bed he said he wanted to sleep in his big boy room so Oliver could have his baby bed! This was a shocker to us because his big boy room has been ready for about 6 months and he never wanted to sleep in there by himself. Now he knows Oliver is here and will eventually need the baby bed so he is being a big boy and moving rooms!

We are lucky to have an angel in Heaven looking over us and two strong boys with us here. Thanks for all the well wishes, visits, meals, etc. to all. We appreciate all the prayers over the years. I'll be posting lots of pictures of our handsome little guy and the video when Thad met him for the first time.
