Andrew Edwin was born February 28th at 9:58 am. He weighed 8 lbs 2 oz and was 21 inches. I woke up around 1:30 am and was having contractions that were about 10 minutes apart. I was awake from then on timing them throughout the night. By 5:00 am they were getting strong and intense and closer together! I had my 39 week OB check at 8:30 that morning and I was trying to hold out until then but I couldn't. Finally at 7:00 am we called a friend to come stay with Thad and Ollie and Adam and I headed to the hospital. I was at 7 cm when we got to the hospital around 7:30. I got my epidural around 8:50 and barely got to enjoy it before it was go time! Since I had been up all night I thought I would get to enjoy a nice 2-3 hour nap before Andrew came but he had other plans.
It was the quickest delivery! I guess having baby #4 speeds everything up! Less than 5 minutes of pushing and Andrew was born.
Proud daddy!
It doesn't even seem possible that he is already here. This was a tough pregnancy for me with aches and pains. I forgot what it was like to bend over and pick something off the floor without hurting!
My Aunt Sue brought Thad and Oliver up to meet their new baby brother. They were so excited to see him! I was really worried what Oliver would think about the new baby. He was such a momma's boy and always had to be on my lap so I was nervous he would have a hard time with it. He proved me wrong and has been absolutely wonderful with Andrew. He is so loving and caring towards him and gives him hugs and kisses all day long!
Thad walked in the room and said, "we have two brothers now?!?!" He was my helper before but now, he is a really big help.
Thad liked having all the free snacks at the hospital. He said, "this place has everything, all the snacks I can eat!"
Andrew is such a sweet boy! He loves to cuddle and sleep with Momma.
He had his echo done before we left the hospital and everything is perfect with his heart.
Ollie probably gave him 50 kisses within 5 minutes of meeting him.
Our first family picture.
Daddy and all his boys! I am really out numbered now! Good thing I have sweet boys who are good to their momma :)
So alert!
My parents have made it out to Emma's, Thad's and Ollie's births but this one came too fast! I told my mom I was going into the hospital around 7 and they jumped in their car from Kansas but didn't make it for Andrew's birth. They made good time but got here about 2 hours after he was born. Thad and Ollie liked hanging out with Nana and Papa.
After a whole 24 hours we were ready to leave. It's so nice coming straight home from the hospital and not spending weeks there!
It's been 2 weeks and we are adjusting well to 3 boys. Adam took a week off from work and we have had family here off and on. We have our routine down but it takes so much longer leaving the house than before! Oliver has turned into a big boy overnight and is very independent now. He is also my big helper. We are so blessed to have the children we have. Emma watching down on us from Heaven and our 3 boys who are so great. So many great family and friends who look out for us and shower us with love! Life is good and we are truly blessed!
