Fun day at the zoo

We had a great family day at the zoo! Grandma Luci got Thad a membership for his birthday so today we took our first visit with Thad. He LOVED it! He was really excited to see the giraffes since they up close and personal! We bought giraffe crackers to feed them and Thad decided he wanted to try them too! YUCK! He didn't actually bite into the cracker but it did make its way into his mouth. After that we decided daddy would feed the giraffes.

We also visited the spot where Adam proposed to me more than 5 years ago.

We saw lions, elephants, monkeys, leopards, hippos, birds, snakes, giraffes, and so many more animals. Thad actually saw most of them even the ones behind the gates and glasses. He growled at a few of them and yelled at most of them. He even did his little "curious george oot" for the monkeys!

This was the newest addition to the zoo. The little gorilla was eating some type of noodles and loving them!
By the time we were finished we felt like this hippo. Tired and worn out!!! Thad was showing us the baby sign for sleep! Cheyenne Mt. Zoo is on a Mountain so its lots of up hills and down hills. It was a great day and we look forward to going back real soon. Thanks Grandma Luci for the zoo membership!!

What a great birthday present! Something to enjoy all year long. I love the Cheyenne Mt. Zoo! We have a funny picture of our son Austin when he was two sitting up on daddy's shoulders looking at those giraffes and he is literally FACE-TO-FACE with them! Tory felt the giraffe nibbling at his hair. A little too close for me! I don't think I'd enjoy giraffe crackers either. lol Sounds like you guys had a great time!
