Hitting Baby
Thad is so adorable and cute but he also has his naughty side. He likes to hit his mommy in the face. I’m really the only one he hits. We will be in church and he’ll get mad at me and start hitting my face. Or we will be sitting on the floor and he will use me to pull himself up and hit my face. I have tried everything- ignoring him not showing him attention after he does it, gently tapping his wrist, holding his hands down, telling him NO in my upset mommy voice and nothing seems to work!!!! Is this just a phase he is going through? He will hit Adam every once in a while but nothing like he hits me. If we are in church and he gets really mad, he starts hitting me with both hands!! When I tell him NO he puts his head down on my chest like he knows its wrong but yet he still does it over and over!!!! Any thoughts from anyone, has this happened to you. Hopefully this is just a phase he is going through.

Blessing 8
I complain about my job alot but I am blessed to have a job especially in this economy right now. Working in Human Resources I see so many people looking for any type of work. They are so desperate to have a job they will do any type of work. I have been at my job for almost 6 years and have built a good relationship with my boss and co-workers. We have been through alot together and they are all very understanding. I have met lots of great friends through my work and people who have stood by me in tough times. I also have very good health benefits which is one of the reasons I have to work. With both Emma and Thad I was fortunate to take so much time off with pay because my co-workers and other district employees donated their sick days to me so I would be able to stay at home longer and keep full benefits. I am blessed to have a job that allows me to have flexible hours, great benefits and good working relationships.

Blessing 7- Rhonda
We were very lucky to find Rhonda. It was two weeks before I was supposed to start back to work and something came up with our babysitter. We didn't know what we were going to do so we started calling friends and family asking if they knew of anyone who did daycare in their home. We called a lady who Adam knows through the Y and she was going to her Mops group and said she would ask around. This was now one week before I was starting back to work. We got a call that next day from our friend and she said she got a name for us to call. I called the number and it was Rhonda who answered. I asked all the mommy questions on the phone and luckily she had an opening for Thad. Adam and I met with her a few days later and it was perfect! She has been doing daycare for years in her home. I am still amazed how everything worked out perfectly. It was definitely Gods will! We are so blessed to know Thad is safe during the day and is cared for like he was her own. Thad has so much fun at Rhonda's daycare and enjoys playing with all the kids. Thanks Rhonda for always being there for us if we need to bring Thad early or pick him up a little later! You are such a blessing to our family.

One step closer......
This was the first time he walked with the couch. He has been pulling himself up on everything and decided to take a few steps. It won't be long and he'll be walking everywhere!
Daddy the barber!
Adam has been giving himself haircuts for as long as I've known him. He is now starting a new tradition with Thad! Daddy cut Thad's hair today for his second haircut. He did really good, he sat in his highchair and held a brush to keep him occupied. His hair grows fast so he definitely needed one. It's a little short but he still looks so darn cute! It makes him look a little older. We would have paid $20 to have his hair cut so Adam thinks he should get that money instead! Sorry daddy, it's going into Thad's bank account everytime you give him a hair cut :)

Blessing 6- Jesus
(This one is long overdue)
Without Jesus present in my life I wouldn't be able to get through one day. In the past few years I have really let him into my heart and life. I have learned with Jesus all things are possible. If you give Him your troubles he will turn them into blessings. He is there for you when no one else is, He loves you unconditionally even when you may doubt His presence. He paid the price for my sins so one day I will spend eternal life with my loved ones. I know I need to give full trust in Him and it's hard sometimes to remember that. He knows what is best for me so I need to fully trust in Him. God is good in so many ways, He blesses us when we need it the most and is there for us when we need Him the most.
"Footprints in the Sand"
A man dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. He noticed two sets of footprints. During the saddest times in his life, however he noticed there was only one set of footprints. The man questioned the Lord about this. "I don't understand why, when I needed you most you would leave me." The Lord replied, "During your times of suffering when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

The Newest YMCA Member
We have been spending family time at the YMCA on the weekends. We have a little water bug who loves to go swimming! He loves the water whether its the pool or the bath tub. He even got his own little membership card. He does know he can't go without mommy or daddy though!!!! There is a mother/baby swim class that we signed up for on Saturdays in February. We had our first class today which was lots of fun. Some of the things we tried today was blowing bubbles in the water, jumping from the side, floating on his back, throwing toys and swimming to get them. Thad's favorite part was throwing the toys and swimming to get them! He may have found a little girlfriend in his class who is a day younger than him! She was a tiny thing who kept waving at Thad.

Blessing #5- Babies
As Adam was reading the Sunday Newspaper he came across an article named "A Pro-life Ad We Can't See." During the commercials for Superbowl was an ad about Pro-Life which was supposed to be aired. NBC chose not to air this commercial because they didn't want to be "controversial." This is a little paragraph from the Gazette: This commercial unlike the other beer ads is not resque in the least. It's not something anyone should blush at, or fear allowing their children to see. It's not shocking, or confrontational. This year's high profile ban involves an ad that suggests considering the potential of a child. It's not an ad that advocates a law against abortion, or one that asks for anything that would reduce the rights of women to obtain abortions. In fact, it's exactly the kind of positive message the pro-life community should promote more often.
Since NBC chose not to air the commercial you can view it on YouTube at the following link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2CaBR3z85c&feature=related
I hope you will all take a minute to view this commercial. It's only 41 seconds, less than a minute of your time.
This also fits in to my blessing for this week, babies.
Babies are such a blessing. They are so sweet, innocent and cuddly. They bring joy to lives around them with their sweet smile, sounds and smells. Each baby is different and special in their own way. There is nothing better than caring for a baby, knowing they completely depend on the mommy and daddy to tend to their every need. Babies deserve a right to be born, to live and to experience life.
There are so many people who cannot have children or who lose children to sickness, accidents, etc. Then you have people who chose to abort their babies without giving it a second thought. I know this is a sensitive issue with people but I wanted to share my thoughts on human life and say how much of a blessing babies are.
Babies are a gift from God. God is Pro-Life, why can't we all be?
