Blessing 21

Chauchi is a blessing in our lives. He has been with us for 4 years. We got him from Adam's sisters when he was just 5 months old. I was so opposed to getting a pug after some of the stories Adam told me about pugs. But then after an hour with him I was hooked. He used to be our baby and was very spoiled. He's still a spoiled pug but now he is a dog. He still sleeps with us and takes up half the bed. Thad absolutely adores him and lights up when he see's his Chauchi. Chauchi has been very good with Thad. He takes beating after beating, ear pulling, hair pulling and more beating!!!!! He's a good dog and we are lucky to have him.

Silly boy

Thad's exersaucer has been stored under his crib for about 3 months. The top section was disconnected from the bottom part. He climbed into the top section and started playing with all the toys.

He thought that was so funny to crawl up on the top section and sit there like a big boy!

Cardiac Kids Picnic

Last Sunday we went to our second Cardiac Kids picnic. There is a group through Children's Hospital called Cardiac Kids. They get together a few times a year and its great to meet other parents and see how well the heart babies are doing. It was at Heritage Square in Golden, CO with lots of pizza and kiddy rides. We saw a few familiar faces when we were in the hospital with Emma. We met lots of new families and its nice to talk to other parents who have been through what we have.
Thad had fun running around and collecting sticks.

Here is a new friend Thad met. He walked right up to her and hit her "gently" in the face and they were instant friends!!!! They gave each other cute little hugs too.

We also had a few visitors stop by. Some of the Star Wars characters stopped by to take pictures and see all the kids. Most of the little kids were scared to go up to them and get their picture. Not our little Thad though, we went right up to them.

His favorite was Darth Vader. He was trying to push his buttons on his costume and grab at his mask. Darth was even breathing real heavy like he does. I think the dads enjoyed the Star Wars characters more than the kids. They were trying to make the kids take a picture with them while some of the kiddos were screaming!!

Thad was still a little young for most of the rides but we did go out in a swan paddle boat. It didn't last long because Thad was trying to get in the water. His favorite ride was the carousel. Next year he will be the perfect age for all those fun rides.
After all the running around and playing Thad was exhausted and sleeping by the time we hit the highway! We had a really nice time and look forward to next years event!

Blessing 20

Monday May 11 was my parents 35th Wedding Anniversary!!!!! I am very proud of my parents and it is a huge accomplishment to be married for 35 years. They have shown their love for each other and I hope I am as happy as they are in 30 years!! They have shown what a great example of what marriage should be.

We love you mom and dad, thanks for always being there for us and for being great parents!

I found some old pictures of the two of them and had to share!!!! (sorry mom!)

Weekend in Tribune

We had a long weekend in Tribune for Mother's Day Weekend. Adam's sister Beth and her daughter Tatum made the long drive from Parson's. We hung out with them for a few days then the Beringer crew came from Goodland. Jena and Josh were sick so they stayed home for a few days and came down for Sunday afternoon. Thad and Tatum were good buddies. We went on walks, went to the park, played in the hot tub (it wasn't actually hot water!), and lots of playing outside. The weather was very nice the first few days and colder the last few but that didn't stop the kiddo's. The big boys even cut down a dead tree in the backyard.

This is Larry who lives in Wayne and Kathy's backyard in the summer and in the basement in the Winter time. Jena bought Larry about 10 years ago when he could fit in her hand. Now all the new babies have a picture sitting on Larry.

We tried reinacting a picture of Maddix, Thad and Joshua we took last August. The two babies were laying there heads on Thad's lap. Different story this time, we tried laying them down on his lap and they all started screaming so we sat them all up. I think Thad was a little concerned with why they were so upset!!!
All the cousins minus the other Younger family. We missed you Cole, Jacob and Gracie!

Happy Mother's Day!
We always have a good time in Tribune even though it tends to get a little loud and crowded sometimes. We always eat good and way too much. Thanks Wayne and Kathy for putting up with all of us and the pugs too!!!!

Blessing 19

We hope everyone had a great Mother's Day! Mother's are such a blessing. Being a mother is the best job in the world. I couldn't imagine not being a mom, taking care of a life and shaping them to be the person they will grow up to be.

I saw this email and thought it was cute.

4 YEARS OF AGE - My Mommy can do anything!
8 YEARS OF AGE - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother doesn't really know quite everything.
14 YEARS OF AGE - Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either.
16 YEARS OF AGE - Mother? She's hopelessly old fashioned.
18 YEARS OF AGE - That old woman? She's way out of date!
25 YEARS OF AGE - Well, she might know a little bit about it.
35 YEARS OF AGE - Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion.
45 YEARS OF AGE - Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF AGE - Wish I could talk it over with Mom

Blessing 16, 17, 18

Oops, I'm a little behind on my blessings! Here is a summary of the last three weeks blessings.

Blessing 16

My college roomate got married on April 24th in Mexico. We weren't able to attend the wedding but looking at pictures and videos it looked beautiful on the beach. Shiloh of course looked gorgeous in her gown. Thad and I were able to go back to Kansas for her bridal shower. Luckily they didn't catch the swine flu while in Mexico!!! Congrats Shiloh you made a gorgeous bride.

Blessing 17

My oldest niece Shayna had her First Communion on April 26th. She looked so grown up in her dress. I called her to ask her about her big day and she was so excited about taking the Body of Christ for the first time. I asked her if she knew that was the Body of Jesus and she said yes. She said it tasted good and didn't taste like normal bread! She wasn't as excited about trying the wine she said it tasted funny. It's hard to believe Shayna will be in 3rd grade next year. She is so grown up and has turned into a nice young lady. We love you Shayna.

Blessing 18
Family Sunday Fun day!

Sunday's are our only real day off together as a family. Adam is off on Monday's so he works Saturdays. Sunday is our only full day together to spend as a family. We go to church Sunday morning then have the rest of the day to play. It started out really nice and then turned rainy so today we went swimming at the Y. Of course Thad loved the water and played and splashed with another boy around his age. He loves jumping from the side of the pool once we say "Ready, Set, Go!!" Sunday's are our day to have fun with the family.
