Blessing 43

Rhonda, Thad's babysitter wasn't able to watch Thad on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Luckily my Aunt Sue was able to watch him all three days!!! She helped us out alot this week and we really appreciate her!!!! They had a fun time together during the day. I called to check in each day and Thad told me all about their day! Thad discovered Rice and played in it!

They worked on a little project each day and made this neat Halloween ghost poster with Thad's feet!

On Tuesday they made a turkey with Thad's hands! He was very proud when he handed it to us!

Thank you so much Sue for taking such great care of Thad! He loved coming to your house and playing with Buddy and Denali!

Silly Thad

Thad has a new saying or phrase when he gets in trouble. Whether he hits me or does something that he knows he shouldn't he thinks it will all be okay if he says "kaa kaa." I'm not sure where he learned this new phrase or why he says it with the cutest face and tilted head. That is the only time he does say "kaa kaa" is when he is in trouble. It's hard not to laugh at the sweet little boy!

Happy Apple Farm........Blessing 42

This weekend we went to the Happy Apple Farm. Our heart group-The Beat Goes On met there for some pumpkin/apple fun! Most of our group was sick but we still had a good time. Thad LOVED it! He loves it any time he can be outside freely running around.

First we took a tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch

Thad searched through all the pumpkins to find the perfect one!

Then he spotted the pumpkin he wanted to take home!

We ended up with a Daddy, Mommy and Baby pumpkin!

After picking out our pumpkins Thad needed a few apples and he couldn't just eat one, he had to have two apples!

It was a little chilly in the morning but after the sun came out it was a gorgeous Colorado day. Thanks to Melissa who brought lunch! It was a fun Saturday, next year we have to go a little earlier to pick apples right from the trees!!!!

BOO at the ZOO

We went to Boo at the Zoo at Cheyenne Mt. Zoo. It was such a fun time and Thad loved it. As you can see he is Elmo this year for Halloween. I'd have to say he's the cutest little Elmo! We were worried about him not wanting to wear his costume but he did great tonight.

He brought his little Elmo candy bucket and knew exactly what to do. He wasn't afraid of any of the costumes but would get shy when people would look at him and say how cute he was!

Trick or Treat! Since he won't be able to eat most of the candy Adam and I will have to help him out!

All the other kids thought Elmo was pretty cool. They called him a baby Elmo!

The bat cave

I am so glad we live in such a neat place where we can take Thad to all of these special places. It's fun now that he is getting older and enjoys doing more and somewhat understands it!

This lion was sitting with the rest of his family when he saw Thad at the window. He sprinted over to our little Elmo and started attacking the glass! My natural instection was to grab Thad back and then I realized a very thick piece of glass seperated us from the lion. Everyone was stunned how the lion ran over and was "clawing" at Elmo!

Blessing 41............Hand me downs

My aunt and uncle, Tony and Sue gave Thad a bunch of new toys!!!! My cousin Emily was cleaning out her toys and decided to give some of them to Thad. Of course he loves Elmo. He got two of them, one squishy one and a tickle me elmo! His eyes light up when Elmo giggles!

This is probably his favorite, the barn with animals! He puts all the animals away, closes the barn up and totes it all around.

The shopping cart is also fun because he picks all of his toys up and pushes it around the living room. We even put laundry in it the other day and he pushed it back to the bedrooms as I put the clothes away. He is such a little helper!

He now has a broom his size! He always tries taking the big broom and ends up tripping all over it. Now he can help daddy sweep out the garage!

He also got some new books, puzzles, a little toy wagon, a cool microphone that he can talk into and it makes his voice make different sounds, and a bus to push around! I'd say he hit the jackpot with all his new toys.

Thank you Tony, Sue and Emily for giving Thad all these toys! I know he will put them to good use.

A typical Saturday night!

Last night Natalie and Leif came over for dinner. We made chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. It was the perfect meal for the cold and dreary weather we have had. We watched a movie and then decided to play a little Mario Cart on the Wii. If you have never played this game I highly recommend it! It is so fun.

Natalie decided not to play so the three of us jumped right in and played a few races....okay 12 of them to be exact. They go by so fast so you have to play alot of them!!!!

This is just our typical weekend, dinner, movie and mario cart all without leaving the house!
Thad even sleeps through all the blue turtle shells, banana peels being thrown at you all the yelling from the game. FUN TIMES!

Blessing 40

Adam re-tiled our shower this past weekend. As you can see the white tile was starting to chip and didn't look very updated.

BEFORE PICTURES

A work in progress. Adam's back hurt for a few days after bending over and over!

Thad even helped by dumping the bucket of spacers! He thought they were the best toy to play with! We are still finding them throughout the house!!

Here is the finished tile project

What a difference this has made. It feels like I'm at a spa retreat everytime I take a shower now. It was definately worth the few days our shower was out of comission. (Don't worry, we still managed to find a shower....thanks Natalie and Leif for letting us use your shower!)

I am very fortunate to have Adam do these little projects around the house. I think he enjoys doing them-at least he tells me he does!!!!

Binkie boy

Thad is addicted to his binkie or "Dittie" as he calls it. We have to have one on hand at all times or we have a major melt down! It's funny because he doesn't get one at Rhonda's house or even during his nap there. But as soon as we walk through the door he starts calling for dittie, dittie, dittie!!!!! If he sees it on the floor or table when he walks through the door he sprints to it and shoves it in his mouth as fast as he can!

I think this is going to be very hard when we finally take the dittie away. There are times we try to only give it to him at naps and bedtime but then we always seem to give in!!! Posted by Picasa

Blessing 39

Adam is a great father, friend and husband. He always sees the positive in the situations that seem to be impossible. He turns a "bad" situation into a good one. He is always helping others and trying to see the best in everyone he comes across. Thad adores him and always wants to do what his daddy is doing. I feel very fortunate that our paths crossed those 8 years ago in Hays, KS. I don't know what I would do without him in my life. He is so laid back, easy going and always there for me. Adam, thanks for being such a big part of my life and I look forward to exploring the next 50 years with you!

Going for a walk

The past few time we have gone on a walk we have let Thad walk by himself and not go in the stroller. He LOVES this! He tries so hard to walk Chauchi but Chauchi is too fast and pulls him too hard! It takes us a lot longer to just go around the block but he has so much fun walking like a big boy.

If he see's rocks along the way he likes to take a little break and sit for awhile..........

Or climb them!

The last time we went on a walk a big black dog followed us home. He was very friendly but wanted to stay with us and almost tried coming inside! After a drive around the neighborhood trying to find the owner with no luck we put him in our backyard for about an hour. Her tags said she lived up in Black Forrest which is about 20 miles from our house!!! Luckily another neighbor of ours saw we had her and said she knew who she belonged to and we found the owner. Good thing because I couldn't handle two dog dogs!!!!!!
