House projects

Adam has been a little busy these past few weeks on a few projects. He put in a whole house fan today.
Hard at work with a power tool!

The finished project.

He also put in two windows last weekend. We had very old windows in our living and dining room that didn't open and were hot in the summer and cold in the winter.
Thad liked having the windows open so he could give daddy kisses and bring him water!

I am so lucky I have a husband who can do all these projects! He did all of them by himself too.

Here is the front window. He also replaced our dining room window. It's so nice to be able to open the windows to feel that cool breeze. Now that we have the whole house fan it will be nice and cool!

Do you also see my nicely painted porch swing? While Thad and I were in Kansas Adam painted the swing to match the trim. Adam said he needs a break from projects right now.........but before long I'm sure I'll have something else for him to do!!! Thanks for all your hard work Adam!

Happy Fathers Day

Happy Father's day to the best daddy in the world! I am so lucky to have you as my husband and the father of our children. You are always so patient and kind, loving and respectful.
You always take care of us and make sure we are okay.

Emma is so blessed to have you as her daddy. I know she is looking down on you and sending lots of love today and everyday. Emma loves you so much!

We love you so much, thank you for always being there for us!
Love Mindy, Thad and Emma
Happy Father's Day to my dad and all the other dad's out there!

Kansas Getaway

Thad and I headed to Russell last week. We went to visit my parents and all the cousins! My mom had surgery so we wanted to help her out. Thad had so much fun playing with all of his cousins. He got a new bike which he loved riding while Shayna, Hannah and Macie rode their bikes.
He even got a motorcycle ride from Papa!

It was so hot and humid in Kansas! I forgot how hot it gets. We went to the pool one day and the kids had a blast! Their was a frog slide that Thad loved going down all by himself! I spent so much time putting sunscreen on all the kids that I didn't put any on myself and am still paying for it 5 days later. My back is fried! It is still so red and it is itchy and painful! I think I learned my lesson for next time.

The kids had fun running through the sprinkler on those hot days!

Macie, Shayna, Avery, Jaelynne, Dawson, Hannah and Thad

This was such a funny shot! They can't eat in the living room so they all sit on the stairs while eating their icecream. They were concentrating very hard on the icecream!

We had such a good time in Kansas. It was super hot but we survived. We went to the park and played on the swings, went to a few garage sales and played played played!

We even went to Salina to visit Adam's Grandparents and Dad. They enjoyed seeing Thad and he had fun playing in the backyard. Adam's grandparents just celebrated their 62nd Anniversary!

On the way back to Colorado we stopped in Goodland to see Adam's sisters Jill and Jena. It was Maddix's (left) 2nd birthday so we got to wish him a happy birthday! Little Josh (right) will turn 2 next week!

It's always nice to be home and sleep in your own bed! Adam missed Thad alot and he was very excited to see us. He thought Thad had changed in the week we were gone!

Thanks for a great trip mom and dad!

Heart Walk 2010

The heart walk was at the Airforce Academy. It was FREEZING cold again this year. We toughed it out and did the one mile family walk.
I made signs to carry and decorated the wagon with CHD awareness signs.

Thad with his sign.........1 in 100 babies are born with a Congenital Heart Defect.

Walking for Emma and Thad.......

Grandma Kathy and Papa Wayne joined us for the walk. Thanks for walking with us!

The proud walker! I got a medal for raising $500 and Thad loved wearing it!

We had cheerleaders on the side lines cheering us on and Thad and I joined in the clapping!

Posted by PicasaIt was another great walk minus the weather! We support such a great cause and there needs to be more awareness about Congenital Heart Defects. Too many children are diagnosed with a CHD and there needs to be more awareness and hopefully a cure one day. It has definitely affected our lives and will always be a constant reminder of how precious life is.

Thad's Cardiologist Checkup

Thad had his cardiologist appointment today. It has been 9 months since we last saw his cardiologist. Thad was a little worried while getting his echo but once he saw Sesame Street he focused his attention on Elmo.

Thad decided he wanted to listen to his heart. Dr. Brames gave him the stethescope and let him play around a little.

After all the listening we got the good news! Thad is doing great (which we already knew!). His echo, EKG and blood pressure all looked good. They are still keeping an eye on his mitral valve but it hasn't changed from 9 months ago. He said he looks great and is doing even better!

Nana Kathy and Papa Wayne were out for the week so they got to go to his check up.

We had to get one last picture of Dr. Brames and Thad. They both put on their "cheesey" smiles.

It was a great checkup and we are so thankful for how well Thad is doing. Praise God!!! He is such a little sweetie and is starting to become a little boy. It's hard to think of him as a little boy, I want him to stay my baby forever!!!!

We don't go back for one year!

Spoiled by Nana and Papa!

This week Grandma Kathy and Papa Wayne came to babysit Thad. Everyday when I come home from lunch I ask Thad what they did so far today and he says "play." He loves playing outside in the dirt! He likes hanging out with Papa because he can fly high in the air!

I noticed Thad was putting his hand on his chin everytime we sat at the table. I couldn't figure out where he got it from until we saw Nana doing it! I had to get a picture of both of them with their hands under their chin!

Posted by PicasaThad had lots of fun with Nana and Papa. They took him to the mall one day and said he was a very good boy. It was sure nice to have them here this week! They are going to stay through Saturday and walk in the Heart Walk with us!
Thanks again for spending the week with us.
