I've been tagged!

Beth tagged me on her blog so here goes. The rules are: List 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 goals, 3 current obsessions/collections, and 3 facts about yourself. Tag 5 people at the end of your post by leaving their names. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog!

3 Joys:
1. My husband and two children. God has blessed me with a wonderful, understanding and loving husband. He gave us two very special children who need extra special love.
2. Walking in the door and seeing the biggest smile on Thad's face. He gets so excited to see me and clings to me so I don't leave his side!
3. Spending time with my family

3 Fears:
1. My worst fear has already came true, loosing a child. Loosing a child is the hardest thing I will ever have to go through in my life. However, I know Emma is whole again and not suffering so that gives me peace.
2. Someone kidnapping Thad. I am so paranoid whenever I am home or even going to the store. Thoughts run through my head of "What if's" and what would I do if someone tried taking him.
3. Spiders. I'm not sure why these tiny bugs scare me so much but when I see one I freak out! If I see one in a room I'll call for Adam like I just saw a mouse and he comes in to see a tiny spider and can kill it with his finger and that grosses me out!!!!

3 Goals:
1. To be Debt Free!
2. To be the best wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.
3. To exercise more and be more healthier

3 Current obsessions/collections
1. Scrapbooking- I LOVE to take pictures and turn them into memories on paper.
2. Cross-stitching
3. Blogging! It is so addictive and its great for family and friends to keep up with us.

3 Facts:
1. I am very picky on foods. I don't like textured foods and if it looks gross I won't even try it. I think I only like about 5 foods!!!!!
2. I am a list maker for everything!
3. I am a reality tv nut!

Since Beth already tagged Jena and Melissa I tag Catherine and Thea!!!!!

Back to work

Well I survived my first three days back to work. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. They actually flew by pretty fast. Adam and Thad had a good time hanging out together. It was weird not being around him all day, feeding him, getting him dressed, etc... I came home for lunch everyday and it was nice to see Thad get so excited to see me. Now I know how Adam feels when he gets home from work and see's the smile on Thad's face and his arms are going wild for him to pick him up. They made a sign for me that said "Welcome Home Mommy, we love you!"
Next week I think it will be a little harder because Thad will actually go to the babysitters house. We found a wonderful Christian lady who does in home daycare. She has two full time kids who will be there everyday and then a few part timers. Thad will go there Tues, Wed and Thursday's. We met with her on Thursday and Thad enjoyed seeing the other kids which will probably be good for him to be around to occupy his day. There was a sweet little girl there and when we asked her name, it was Emma. It made my heart melt looking at her. She is two years old so maybe that is a sign that we are supossed to be with this babysitter.

Now I get to focus on the weekend and the two full days I'll get to spend with Thad. If I had a choice I would definitely want to stay at home. It was nice getting out and seeing other adults but I would much rather have my Thaddy time at home.
Adam enjoyed his time with Thad these past few days and has been singing the "Mr. Mom" song by Lonestar. He said he didn't think he could stay at home everyday but definitely enjoyed his time with Thad. I tried not to call too many times during the day but it was hard not to!!

Late night check-up

Last night we had a late night adventure to the wonderful Emergency Room. Yesterday Thad was a little fussy and had a creeping temperature. I called our Pediatrician's after hours clinic and talked with the on call doc at 4:00 pm when his temperature was 100.7 degrees. She said to keep a close eye on him and if it got over 102.5 to call her back. He went to sleep around 9ish and woke up at midnight and was burning up. We checked his temp and it was 102.7. So we called the Dr. again and she said with his heart history it would be a good idea to take him to get checked out. So off we went the the E.R. My stomach was in knots just thinking every possible scenario. After 4 hours, a bunch of pokes and a very tired baby we finally came home. The Dr. thought he had a ear infection in his right ear so he gave him a good dose of antibiotics and Motrin to help with the fever. They wanted to start a I.V. to draw blood and push the antibiotics through the I.V. but after two long pokes and a screaming Thad we said no more! They wanted to try his other arm but since he has chunky arms weren't able to get a vein. We couldn't watch him in pain anymore so we chose the shot for the antibiotic. Other than a little fussy he was never pulling on his ears or showing any other signs of sickness. He seemed like his normal self but definitely wanted to be held.

Hanging out in my big hospital bed!

They had to put warm packs on his hands to try to find a vein. It was kind of funny watching him try and get the packs off. He was trying to shake the packs off his hands.

Even after being dragged to the hospital at 12 am he was still a happy baby.

We had a follow up checkup with our Pediatrician today and his redness in his right ear had disappeared. His fever broke and you can tell he is feeling good again. He weighed 21 lbs 8 oz.

Do you see what I see?

Thad is 8 months old today! He has learned alot of new tricks in the past few weeks. He rolled over for the first time at 3 am a few nights ago! I heard a screeching cry and I knew that was the sound of tummy time! I went into check on him and sure enough he had rolled over on his belly. He's only been doing it at night time. Now we are working on him rolling back over on his own. He learned how to clap his hands and when we say "Yeah" he gets excited and claps them. He is such a big boy. He learned to blow bubbles with his mouth and the drool just shoots out! He also got his two bottom teeth! They just popped up over night it seems like. His mood didn't seem to change so hopefully they weren't too painful for him. He loves his teething ring right out of the freezer. I'm sure it helps with the pain a little.

I love to see all his new tricks but its sad because he is growing up way to fast. He will be a year old in only 4 months! (I know it's 4 months away but it is going to fly by us). I start back to work on Wednesday :( Adam is staying home those first three days I go back. He has some vacation time stored up and it will be fun for the boys to hang out. Then I can call every hour and not feel bad for disturbing the babysitter!

I know a good deal when I see one!

Beth posted a blog about finding good deals and asked us to share when we found a good deal. Well mine is on cereal! I went to Safeway and found cereal on sale for 2 boxes for $5.00. Doesn't seem like that good of a deal yet, but if you buy 5 boxes you automatically save $5.00. So if I buy 5 boxes at $2.50 a box the total would be $12.50 minus the $5.oo I saved for buying 5 boxes. Then I had two different coupons saving another $3.00 so I purchased 5 boxes of cereal for $4.50!!!! I thought that is a heck of a savings so I went back the next day and bought five more boxes because I had two more coupons for $2.50 off. So to sum it up, I bought 10 boxes of cereal for $9.50. Can't beat that!

Photo Tile Project

Adam gave me a tile kit almost 5 years ago for my birthday and I just now did it. The kit came with two tiles, mud, glaze, tools, etc. You had to take a picture and copy it on a special paper wih a mirrored image. I think that is why I waited so long because I had to actually get out and go to a copy center to have them do it. Yesterday I finally went and copied a picture of Emma and Thad. I started this project at 1:00 pm and finally finished it at 9:00 pm. It was a long process and each step had to dry and then bake it in the oven and on and on! At first I was getting mad it was taking so long but it was very much worth the wait. They look amazing! I'm hooked now and want to do more.

P.S. If anyone is interested the website is www.tilanofresco.com

My brother sent home a bunch of his son's old toys for Thad to explore and play with. He absolutely LOVES them. His favorite is definitely the jumperoo. Thanks Mike for all the toys, they are taking over our house!

The time has almost come.....

I can't believe how fast these past 8 months have gone. I start back to work on September 24th-less than 2 weeks!!. In the back of my head I really never thought this day was going to come. I think I was hoping for a miracle, like winning the lottery! I guess I already got my miracle with Thad. We have found a wonderful babysitter for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Adam will work Tuesday through Saturday and have Monday's off so he can be at home with him. I will be off on Friday's so he will only be at the sitter's for 3 days a week. I think it will be good for him to be around other people. We found her through a guy at Adam's work and she couldn't be better for us. She is close to his work so he can always run over there if he needs to. She has been through so much in her life including beating pancreatic cancer with a 3% chance of living. She is a wonderful Christian woman and will teach Thad alot. We have started going to her house to get Thad adjusted to her and so far so good. It will definitely be much harder on me than him. He will adjust just fine and I'll be the emotional wreck. I will miss him like crazy but I have been fortunate to have stayed at home with him for 8 months.

Sandy the horse

At our grocery store in Russell there is a horse named Sandy. I remember growing up riding the horsey almost everytime we went to the store. It only cost 10 cents to ride and it is still there. It has been there for well over 25 years. We took Thad into the store so he could experience Sandy too. He LOVED it! As the ride started he got this big smile on his face and giggled. Of course he had to ride it a few times.

Go Sandy go!

Week in Russell

We had a good time in Russell. Thad and I managed to catch another cold there! The weather was cold and rainy most of the time we were there. We got to see my best friend from high school, Jessica and her mom. We saw Uncle Mike, cousin Dawson, Uncle Doug and Aunt Michelle and all the three girls. We also babysat my niece Macie for the week. Thad likes little kids so he had fun staring and smiling at her. She is such a tattle-teller and would always let me know when Thad was staring at her or if he would cough and not cover his mouth or touch her jeans, etc. He would make noises and she always wanted to know what he was saying. I had to explain to her over a dozen times a day that he is a baby and can't do everything she does. She is a little pistol! She did like to babysit him if I would leave the room for a second. She was pretty proud that I left her in charge of him! The girls are also my little germ natzies! If we would go into a store they were right there to tell people not to touch his hands or face. It takes the pressure off of me and plus its cuter coming from a little kid than the germ-o-phob obsessive mom! I do have to admit I have come along way from a few months ago. I'm not as anal as I was about not touching him and washing your hands before you even touch him. Now that it is getting colder outside I'm sure I'll be a little more strict with the hand washing!

Isn't the monkey picture freaky looking! It was wierd seeing the girls with the masks on!
We are glad to be home and sleeping in our own beds and of course Thad and I missed Adam lots! He said the house was very quiet without us!

Happy Grandparents Day!

Grandma Luci and Papa Steve

Grandma Kathy and Papa Wayne

Grandpa Max

Happy Grandparents Day to each of my grandparents! Thanks for everything you have done for me and continue to do for me. I love you all very much. You are all so special in my lives in different ways. Hope you have a great day!

Love, Thad

Darn foot!

So I have a eventful foot story for you all! Thursday I went to see a Podiatrist because my big toe had been hurting for a very long time and was starting to get red around the toe nail. I went in thinking maybe he would prescribe me something to take and it would feel all better but instead he gives me 2 shots in my big toe which by the way hurt worse than childbirth! Then he decides its best to cut a chunk out of my toe nail since it might be ingrown. Piece of cake right, WRONG! I have never been in so much pain in my life! So he says take it easy, don't wear shoes except flip flops and keep it propped up for a few days. Wrong time to have it happen when we were going to the lake for the weekend. I got home after my appointment and could barely walk. I ended up calling him after 3 hours of laying on the couch not able to get up and carry Thad around. He called in the prescription and an hour later I felt much better! By Sunday my foot was feeling much better I was beginning to walk flat again and without a limp. My mom and I went for a ride in the golf cart and I was driving when a grasshopper jumps on me. I stop the cart and am trying to flick it off(while my mom is laughing hysterically) and notice it was now in my shirt. I jumped off so fast and lifted my shirt did a nice little dance trying to remove it from inside my shirt and I feel a sting on my other foot. So I'm yelling, I just got bit by something as my foot turns beat red and starts to swell. My uncle was in the 4-Wheeler behind us and gives me ice to put on it and my mom takes over driving. We make it back to the cabin where I am limping now on both feet and plop on the couch. Then everyone was talking about what if it was a scorpion sting!?!?!? I think they were just trying to scare me and I definately think it was just a bee sting.

Too much drama for my feet. I am so paranoid someone is going to step on my toe! My bee sting quit hurting after a few hours and my other toe is healing, I hope. Its very red but I go back to see him on Moday so hopfeully he won't dig around in it again.

But after all that drama, Thad survived his first weekend at the lake. My parents bought a lake house at Cedar Bluff in Kansas so we packed up and went back for Labor Day Weekend. The weather was nice but very windy! We never made it out on the boat but had fun anyway. Thad and I came back to Russell since Adam is at a retreat for his work. We are hanging out with Grandpa and Grandma for the week and will go back on Sunday. The weather here has been cold and rainy. Of course I was thinking it would be warm and didn't pack too many pants and long shirts. Good thing we can just snuggle inside!
